June 9 - Clam Gulch map and photos

This is the official map of Clam Gulch. My trailer is parked right across from where it says "Fee Station". The loop around the campground is about a half mile. On the right side of the map if you look very closely, you can see the "stairs". They end on the Beach Road., so from there I walk on the road to the beach. I have no idea what those "umbrella-like things" are.

The beach at high tide.
These flowers are about 3 inches tall. The flowers themselves are about 1.5 inches across. They are everywhere here, but they seem to like shade more than sun. Their name is "Bunchberry Dogwood." They are supposed to have berries at some time, but I'm not sure if they are edible.

This plant is called "Cow Parsnip" Right now it is about 3 feet tall, but it's supposed to grow 7 feet tall! It has white flowers that look like Queen's Ann's Lace, or Yarrow. I'll take some photos of the flowers when they bloom. I've been told to stay away from it because it can cause skin irritation like poison ivy. When I mow, or weed whack, I brush against it often since it grows everywhere, but so far I haven't had any reactions to it.
