Wednesday, May 19, 2021- Nebraska to Wyoming

Nebraska seems to go on forever, but here was something I found very interesting! You might find it interesting too!

I also found these signs announcing the owner of a ranch interesting!

Nebraska is lots of rolling country. I drove through it for 396 miles!

Interesting  features sometimes break up the monotony of the drive, like Chimney Rock in the distance,

or buttes in the distance.  They start me wondering about the people who lived here long ago as well as the people who live here now....
I camped Guernsey State Park in the southeastern corner of Wyoming.  The water was clear and cold!

A dam created the reservoir at the campground. There were also train tracks that ran the length of the park.  The trains I saw were carrying coal and there were many cars in each train!

You can see the bluffs many miles away. I heard there are pictographs there. I'd definitely visit this park again and go kayaking as well as hiking - I could probably stay there a week and not run out of things to see and do!

I never found the campsite I reserved online, and I got there too late to ask a ranger where it was, so I drove around and decided on a site here by the main road. I was the only person in that part of the campground and never saw another person, or vehicle there all night. I did stay up to see the stars and was not disappointed! It was a great place to stay!

One view from my campsite,

and another one!

I walked down to the water's edge near my campsite, and stuck my feet in the water. The clear, cold water felt so good after a long day of driving - it felt like having a foot massage! After a while, I started getting cold so I walked back to my trailer.  There was no electricity at the site where I was staying, so I brought out my propane heater, turned it on and in a few minutes was fast asleep!
