June 10 - map and plants

I drew this map of the campground because I thought the other one in the June 9 post was too confusing.

I'm not going to caption these photographs of the ocean any more. There is really nothing special about them to write about.I just love their beauty!
This is a "star flower." The plant is about 2 inches high and the flowers are about an inch across.  They are supposed to grow 4 - 8 inches tall, so I'll keep an eye our for that. They are native woodland flowers.
See the raindrops on the flower
The is the flowering part of equisetum, or horsetail. They are very unusual! It grows in Illinois too in woody wet areas. It is an invasive. Two Native American women camped here and they taught me about some plants. They said that equisetum is good for cleaning your hands if no water is around. They said to pull off some leaves and then rub them in your hands in order to clean them.
This is lupine. It is a native and grows wild all over the hillsides. They bring a beautiful color to the landscape.
