August 10 - Seward

I signed up for a cruise/kayak to see whales, dolphins and glacial ice for August 10, but Seward is 130 miles from Clam Gulch and the cruice/kayak tour started at 7:00, so I drove up the day before. There are camping grounds right in Seward so I borrowed Becky and Linda's tent again.

I could see the ocean and the mountains from my campsite.
The I wandered around Seward.
There were many signs for Lydia Jacoby, the swimmer who won a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics. Apparently, she lived in Seward.
There were murals all around.
I didn't know that the Iditarod went through Seward.
I didn't know there was an earthquake that destroyed Seward in 1964.
This is the place where I scheduled the tour - Sunny Cove. I had heard a lot of good things about it.

Seward not only has a lot of murals, it also has a lot of wooden carvings.

I didn't know Seward was the place where the Alaska flag was created.

The campsites seem to be randomly numbered, so by the time I got back to my campsite, there were tents and cars everywhere.

I hope the weather improves for tomorrow!
