July 8 - The Cabin and Rainbows

The is the "cabin" about 20 miles south of Clam Gulch. Some people also call it, the "ranger station" since my boss, Melissa has her office in there.

Next to the cabin is the maintenance yard where all manner of tools and materials ae kept
As you enter the door, you see the washing machine and dryer. Next to them is the bathroom where there is a shower!!! All the campground hosts have an assigned day to shower and do their laundry. My day is Friday. I have to do my laundry and take a shower before 5:00 because after 5:00 the "cabin" is free for anyone to use.
The cabin has a kitchen with a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave and sink.  On the second floor of the cabin, supplies for cleaning the outhouses are kept.
There is a table in the kitchen which I use when I am doing my laundry. There's no wifi, but there is electricity which is nice.
On the wall adjacent to the table, there is an enlarged map of the Kenai Peninsula. It is really interesting to get an overview of the Kenai Peninsula.
On the way home I saw a rainbow - an appropriate award for taking a shower and doing my laundry!
That's the first rainbow I've seen since I came to Alaska so it was really special!
